The place was in Nocona, Texas and it was H.J . “Daddy Joe” who first founded the business when came to West Texas searching for a better and new life. He started from 25 cents and few materials in boot making and put up a shoe repair shop. Later on when the business starts to gain income he bought a leather to start a pair of boots. “ Daddy Joe” who always make the best for his handicraft had started creating fine and quality boots in town. He has been very particular in details and always makes sure they are of the best fit. One step of discovery of nocona boots company.
He also taught his seven children boot making and they were able to carry their business. In 1918, H. J. Justin died and the Justin brothers moved the business to Fort Worth. Enid thought that her father wants the business to stay in Nocona set up the nocona boots company and partners with her husband Julius Seltzer.
Enid has been working in her father’s shop at the age of 12 and she worked as a sales clerk, shipping clerk, stenographer and credit manager. The nocona boots company started to prosper and she was granted by the state of Texas $20,0000 as a capital stock. Nocona boots company started to grow and there were rough times in business but they were able to surpass it.
In 1934, Enid Justin become the president of Nocona boots company and after a year she started the boot business outside of Texas. The company continue to gain profit despite of the crisis and depression. Now, nocona boot company continues to manufacture the legendary and finest boots in the country as well as its in other branches.
